What is Cosplay?

Cosplay is the art of costuming from an existing media franchise; whether you make the costume yourself, or buy it pre-made, cosplay is all about dressing up as your favourite characters from comics, TV, games and more - showing your love for the characters, and sharing that love with others! Cosplay usually occurs at comic-cons, but plenty of people will cosplay for launch events, fun meet-ups, or to take photos in a location that suits their character. It’s a hobby with a rapidly growing community, a huge online presence, and some incredibly talented people!
