Draco Malfoy

Draco Malfoy is one of my favourite Harry Potter characters, and as a Slytherin, pretty naturally the obvious choice for me. Draco was one of the first characters I ever cosplayed, and I’m now on my third Slytherin robe - though I have a full set of all four houses.

I’ve also made Draco’s quidditch robe, which was a task and a half, but I love how it turned out. The silver lines are all hand-painted, and the serpent patches on the sleeves/back were embroidered by my lovely mum (AKA Molly Weasley herself). Below are a few WIP pictures from the construction process, including the rainbow tail of my Nimbus 2001 pre-painting, and the endless triangle cuts necessary to curve my kneepads properly.

I’m unlikely to wear either of these costumes out to events again, as I don’t feel comfortable celebrating or participating in Potter-related content these days for obvious reasons, but I’m still proud of what I created and have a lot of good memories associated with the time I have spent cosplaying Draco.
